๐Ÿ—œ๏ธ Image Compressor

Reduce JPG, PNG and WebP file size in your browser with a quality slider. No uploads, files stay on your device.

About this Image Compressor

The Image Compressor shrinks the file size of JPG, PNG and WebP images directly in your browser. Lower the quality slider or cap the width to make images lighter for websites, email and forms. Your image is never uploaded to a server, so private photos stay completely private.

How to use it

  1. Choose an image from your device.
  2. Set the quality (80% is a good balance) and output format.
  3. Optionally enter a max width to also resize the image.
  4. Press Compress Image, preview the result and download it.

Example

A 3.2 MB phone photo at 70% quality typically drops to about 350 KB, small enough for most online application forms.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded anywhere?

No. All compression happens locally in your browser with JavaScript; the file never leaves your device.

Which quality setting should I use?

70-85% keeps photos looking sharp while cutting size a lot. Go lower, around 40-60%, when a form has a strict KB limit.

Does compressing reduce the dimensions?

Only if you enter a max width. Otherwise the pixel dimensions stay the same and only the file size shrinks.
