About this Pomodoro Timer

The Pomodoro Technique splits work into focused sessions, traditionally 25 minutes, separated by short 5-minute breaks, which helps you start tasks and stay fresh for hours. This timer runs the cycle automatically: it beeps when a focus session ends, starts your break, beeps again when the break is over, and counts every completed focus session. You can also set your own focus and break lengths.

How to use it

  1. Set your focus minutes (default 25) and break minutes (default 5).
  2. Press Start and work until the beep.
  3. Take the break while the timer runs; the next beep calls you back.
  4. Watch the counter to see how many focus sessions you have completed, and Reset to start fresh.

Example

With the defaults, you focus for 25:00, the timer beeps and switches to a 5:00 break, beeps again, and the counter shows 1 completed focus session.

Frequently asked questions

How many Pomodoros should I do in a day?

Many people aim for 8 to 12 sessions, with a longer 15-30 minute break after every four sessions.

Can I change the 25 and 5 minutes?

Yes. Enter any focus length from 1 to 180 minutes and break from 1 to 60 minutes before you start.

Does the timer switch automatically?

Yes. It beeps and moves between focus and break on its own until you pause or reset it.
