๐ŸŽ›๏ธ Pressure Converter

Convert pascals, kilopascals, bar, atmospheres, psi and mmHg โ€” for tyres, weather and engineering.

About this Pressure Converter

This pressure converter covers the units you meet on tyre gauges (psi, bar, kPa), in weather reports (mmHg, hPa), and in engineering (Pa, atm). One standard atmosphere is exactly 101,325 Pa โ€” roughly the air pressure at sea level โ€” and a typical car tyre at 32 psi is about 220.6 kPa.

How to use it

  1. Enter the pressure.
  2. Choose the unit it is in and the unit you need.
  3. Click Convert to get the answer plus the full table.

Example

Normal blood pressure of 120 mmHg is about 16 kPa, and sea-level air pressure of 1 atm is 14.6959 psi.

Frequently asked questions

What tyre pressure unit should I use?

Use whatever your car's door sticker or manual lists โ€” most list both psi and kPa/bar. Never exceed the maximum printed on the tyre itself.

Is a bar the same as an atmosphere?

Almost, but not exactly: 1 bar = 100,000 Pa while 1 atm = 101,325 Pa, so 1 atm โ‰ˆ 1.01325 bar.
