Frequently asked questions

Does it count capital and lowercase words separately?

No. All text is converted to lowercase first, so 'The' and 'the' are counted as the same word.

What counts as a word?

Runs of letters, digits and apostrophes, so 'don't' counts as one word and 'well-known' counts as two.
