About this Password Generator

This password generator builds strong, random passwords entirely on your device. It draws randomness from the Web Crypto API, the same source your browser uses for secure connections, so every password is genuinely unpredictable. Nothing you generate is ever sent to a server or stored anywhere.

How to use it

1. Move the length slider to choose how long the password should be (16 or more is a good default).
2. Tick the character types you want: lowercase, uppercase, digits and symbols.
3. Click Generate password to create a fresh random password.
4. Check the entropy rating, then click Copy and paste it into your password manager.

Example

A 16-character password using all four character types has about 102 bits of entropy, which this tool rates as Excellent — a computer guessing a billion passwords per second would still need far longer than the age of the universe to crack it.

Frequently asked questions

Are the passwords really random?

Yes. They are built from crypto.getRandomValues, a cryptographically secure random source built into your browser — not from Math.random, which is predictable.

Is my password sent anywhere?

No. Generation happens 100% in your browser tab. The password never leaves your device, and it disappears when you close the page.

What length should I choose?

At least 14–16 characters with all character types is a strong everyday choice. Longer is always better; 20+ characters is ideal for important accounts.
