About this Spin the Wheel

Can't decide? Let the wheel decide. Type up to twelve options — lunch choices, names, dares, prizes — and this colorful wheel spins with a smooth slow-down animation before landing on one at random. The winning segment is worked out from the wheel's true final angle, so the result you see is the result the physics picked.

How to use it

  1. Edit the list: one entry per line, at least 2 and at most 12.
  2. Click Spin the wheel.
  3. Watch it spin for about four seconds and slow to a stop.
  4. The entry under the pointer at the top is your winner.

Example

With the default food list, one spin might land the pointer on Tacos — decision made, no argument needed.

Frequently asked questions

Is the spin really random?

Yes. The spin distance includes a random number of extra degrees, and the winner is calculated from wherever the wheel actually stops.

Can I use more than 12 entries?

Only the first 12 lines are used, so every segment stays big enough to read. Delete lines to swap entries in.

Why does the wheel slow down gradually?

The animation uses an easing curve that starts fast and decelerates, just like a real spinning wheel losing momentum.
