๐ŸŒ… Retirement Calculator

Estimate the corpus you need at retirement and the monthly saving that gets you there.

About this Retirement Calculator

This retirement calculator answers the two questions that matter: how big a fund you need on the day you retire, and how much to save monthly to reach it. It first grows your current monthly expenses by inflation up to retirement age, then sizes a corpus that funds 25 more years of those expenses while your money keeps earning returns, and finally converts that target into a monthly saving using your expected return.

How to use it

  1. Enter your current age and the age you plan to retire.
  2. Enter what your household spends in a month today.
  3. Adjust inflation and expected return if you have your own estimates โ€” 8% inflation and 12% return are reasonable long-term starting points for many savers.
  4. Click Calculate to see the future monthly expense, the corpus needed and the monthly saving required.

Example

A 30-year-old retiring at 60 with monthly expenses of 100,000 today faces expenses of about 1,006,266 a month at retirement at 8% inflation, needs a corpus of roughly 192 million, and must save about 19,400 a month at a 12% return to reach it.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the corpus so large?

Inflation. At 8% a year, prices multiply about ten times in 30 years, so the fund must cover tomorrow prices for 25 years of retirement. Starting earlier is the strongest lever โ€” it cuts the monthly saving sharply.

Does this include pensions or property?

No โ€” it calculates the full need from your savings alone. Subtract any expected pension, rental income or other support from the monthly expense figure before calculating.
