๐Ÿ•Œ Zakat Calculator

Calculate zakat at 2.5% on cash, gold, silver and business goods above the nisab.

About this Zakat Calculator

This zakat calculator adds up the wealth zakat is charged on โ€” cash, bank balances, the value of gold and silver, and stock held for sale โ€” subtracts debts that are due, and applies the standard 2.5% rate when the net total reaches the nisab. The nisab field uses the silver nisab (the value of 612.36 grams of silver) and is editable, because the money value changes with the silver price โ€” update it to today rate for an exact figure.

How to use it

  1. Enter your cash and bank balances, and the current market value of any gold and silver you own.
  2. Enter the value of business goods and stock you hold for resale.
  3. Subtract debts that are due now in the liabilities field.
  4. Check the nisab field matches the current value of 612.36 g of silver, then click Calculate.

Example

Cash of 200,000, gold worth 500,000 and business stock of 300,000, minus 50,000 of debts, gives net wealth of 950,000; above a nisab of 150,000, the zakat due is 2.5% โ€” 23,750.

Frequently asked questions

What is not counted for zakat here?

Your home, car, furniture and personal items are not zakatable, and neither is gold jewellery in personal use according to many scholars โ€” though opinions differ. This calculator covers the commonly agreed items; for personal rulings, consult a scholar you trust.

Why is the nisab editable?

The nisab is fixed in weight of silver (612.36 g), but its money value moves with the silver market. Enter the current value of that weight of silver in your currency for an accurate result.
