About this Date Calculator

This date calculator does two everyday jobs: it counts the exact number of days between two dates, and it adds or subtracts days from a date to find a new date. Use it for deadlines, project timelines, visa and travel planning, notice periods, pregnancy planning and countdowns of any kind.

How to use it

1. For a day count, pick the start and end dates and click Count Days.
2. For a new date, pick a starting date and type the number of days.
3. Choose Add or Subtract and click Get New Date.

Example

1 January 2026 to 31 January 2026 is 30 days (4 weeks and 2 days). Adding 45 days to 1 January 2026 gives 15 February 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Does the count include the start and end days?

The result is the standard difference between the two dates. From 1 January to 31 January it is 30 days, which matches how deadlines and date differences are normally counted.

Can I count days backwards?

Yes. The two dates can be in either order; the tool always reports a positive day count.

Can I add a large number of days?

Yes, you can add or subtract thousands of days, which is useful for finding dates years in the future or past.
