๐ŸŽ“ GPA Calculator

Weighted GPA calculator: add your courses, grades and credits to get your GPA on a 4.0 scale.

About this GPA Calculator

This GPA calculator computes a credit-weighted grade point average on the standard 4.0 scale. Each course contributes its grade points multiplied by its credit hours, so a four-credit A lifts your GPA more than a one-credit A. Add up to twelve courses to model a full semester and see exactly where you stand.

How to use it

  1. For each course, select the letter grade and type its credit hours.
  2. Use + Add Course for more rows (up to 12).
  3. Click Calculate GPA for the weighted result.

Example

Courses: A in 4 credits, B+ in 3 credits, A- in 3 credits gives (4x4 + 3.3x3 + 3.7x3) / 10 = 37 / 10 = a 3.70 GPA.

Frequently asked questions

What grade points does each letter use?

A+ and A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0 and F = 0.

Why is the GPA weighted by credits?

Most universities weight grades by credit hours because a long, heavy course should count more than a short one. This calculator follows that standard method.

Can I include a failed course?

Yes. Select F (0 points) with its credits; it lowers the GPA exactly as a real transcript would.
